Had the loveliest day today with my daughter. Just the two of us, enjoying a proper catch-up and some quality time together. Life gets so busy, so it felt like a real treat to slow down and spend the day mooching around the shops and chatting over lunch.
After a bit of retail therapy (always good for the soul), we stopped off for scampi and chips at a cosy local pub nothing fancy, just good food, good company and plenty of laughs. These kinds of days are my favourite.
We also discovered a brilliant new charity megastore called Daisy Chain at Team Valley and I managed to bag a gorgeous black velvet designer top for just £8. Total bargain! It’s going to be perfect for the Whitby Goth Weekend over Halloween. A little bit dramatic, a little bit glam, just the vibe I was after.
I’ve always loved charity shopping — it’s guilt-free browsing at its best. You’re giving to a good cause, helping the environment, and walking away with a unique find (at a price your purse will thank you for). What’s not to love?
But the best part of today wasn’t the top (as fabulous as it is) it was spending time with my daughter, laughing, chatting and just enjoying each other’s company. A little reminder that the simple days are often the most special.
